Ruby Crow

Associate Communications Manager

Ruby joined the Strategic Elements team after graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in public relations and a minor in general business. Before joining the Strategic Elements team full-time, she served as a public affairs intern. During that time, Ruby worked with the client relations and communication teams. Now, she focuses on strategic messaging, public affairs, communications, and media relations.

Before interning with Strategic Elements, Ruby had experience as an intern with the Story County Attorney’s Office. As a Victim Witness and Trial Coordinating intern, she thoroughly reviewed and prepared case reports as well as aid attorneys with their trials by preparing witnesses and issuing subpoenas when necessary.

During her senior year at Iowa State, Ruby was in her final public relations course focused on campaigns and emerging into the public relations field as a professional. The class entered a national competition to create The Pear Podcast initiative. The initiative sought to inspire students to get involved in helping to stop the spread of misinformation and disinformation that is fueling targeted violence towards the AAPI community since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ruby was a part of the social team which created specific and detailed social tactics that would successfully target their audience. The initiative made a significant impact on the Iowa State community in just a short amount of time by providing education and knowledge on how to be an ally.
