Maura Kennedy joins Strategic Elements as the Vice President of Communications, bringing 13 years of communications, public relations, media, and marketing to the team. Driven by her love of journalism, Maura takes pride in creative storytelling and producing effective results.
In addition to her role at Strategic Elements, Maura is a contributor and expert panelist at Forbes and serves on the Forbes Communications Council. Outside work, Maura volunteers as the social media director with the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, the third largest rowing race in the nation, and serves as the Communications Chair of the University Barge Club on historic Boathouse Row in Philadelphia.
Now a reformed journalist, Maura worked for almost a decade as a TV news anchor and reporter, covering breaking news around the country for CBS and ABC News affiliates. During her time as a TV news journalist, Kennedy interviewed John McCain and Madeleine Albright and reported live from the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook elementary shooting, Whitey Bulger trial, and Barack Obama’s presidential campaign tour.
An advocate of gender equity, Maura co-founded a professional network of women athletes on Boathouse Row called Women of the Row, which is dedicated to collecting and sharing the untold historical stories of women rowers. Maura is a proud rower, enjoying the best skyline views of Philadelphia from the Schuylkill River.
