Kristin Wileman Sheldon serves as the Associate Vice President of Strategic Communications at Strategic Elements. With a proven track record in public relations, content development, field management, storytelling, and strategic messaging, Kristin’s reputation is one of delivering results and finding creative solutions to difficult situations. Kristin has nearly a decade of experience in government, campaign, nonprofit, and corporate communications roles.
At SE, Kristin’s work spans geography, having led issue campaigns in over 15 states. With an emphasis in renewable energy, Kristin’s thought leadership has been featured at national conferences, webinars, and in national news outlets. Kristin uses her rural roots as a strength for developing strategies that find common ground between small town leaders and developers.
Prior to joining the firm, Kristin served as a communications and marketing specialist for the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she developed a network of business and political leaders and created educational materials for COVID-19 relief resources. She previously served as South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s press secretary, where she led the executive branch’s communications for multiple legislative sessions, penned op-eds published nationwide, and spearheaded aggressive content development.
Before working at the governor’s office, Kristin helped lead communications efforts on Capitol Hill and was instrumental in amplifying public awareness of major policy campaigns and widespread initiatives like tax reform and agriculture initiatives. With experience from multiple aspects of federal, state, and local government, Kristin possesses real-world knowledge of legislative and federal policy’s impact on businesses and families.
Kristin lives in Pierre, South Dakota, with her husband, Ryan, and their goldendoodle, Rosie. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, roasting coffee, and playing board games.
