Ann McCain

Chief of Staff

Ann McCain serves as Chief of Staff and executive team member at Strategic Elements, working closely with the CEO and Chief Strategist to drive initiatives across the firm to support growth, enhance client service, and develop talent. Ann oversees talent acquisition and management, learning and development, and internal communications. She is a collaborative leader and adept communicator with 25 years of public affairs, advocacy, and political campaign experience.   

Ann joined Strategic Elements in 2022 after three years with American Clean Power Association, where she served as Senior Director of Advocacy, leading ACP’s state coalitions program and national grassroots network in support of clean energy industry priorities. In 2015, she launched McCain Strategies, a consulting firm offering public affairs support and communications and management strategies for the workplace, including helping individuals and organizations navigate the multigenerational workplace.  

Ann’s professional experience began on Capitol Hill, working for two members of Congress and on U.S. Senator Bob Dole’s presidential campaign during the 1996 New Hampshire primary. She applied her political work to communications and marketing positions with nonprofits and businesses outside the Beltway, eventually returning to Washington D.C. to build a ten-year career with one of the country’s largest independent public affairs firms. Her expertise includes leading grassroots field campaigns impacting federal, state, and local policy and managing public affairs field operatives from all fifty states.    

Ann is a member of Women in Government Relations and has participated as a panelist at multiple events in the advocacy community, speaking about the intersection of campaign experience and developing high-performing teams and organizations.   

Ann graduated with a B.A. in History from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
