Strategic Elements welcomes government relations, public affairs, and issue advocacy expert Michael Wascom to its coast-to-coast team as Strategic Partner. Having nearly 30 years of experience in high-level strategic communications and public affairs, Wascom will bring invaluable knowledge to the Strategic Elements team.
Wascom also serves as Executive Vice President of Reputable, a public relations agency, and President and CEO of Banyan Woods Group, LLC. Wascom’s former leadership positions for household brands, including the American Red Cross and American Airlines, provide valuable insights and successful public policy background to Strategic Elements’ clients.

Before joining Strategic Elements, Wascom served as Senior Vice President at The Moak Group, a Washington D.C.-based public affairs firm, and as Managing Director of Government and International Affairs at American Airlines. In his role, he provided high-level advice and counsel through a major corporate merger. In 2004, Wascom was appointed to two senior positions at the U.S. Department of Transportation in the George W. Bush Administration—Counselor and Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs. He brings national trade association experience as the former Director of Federal Affairs and later Vice President of Communications at Airlines for America, the nation’s oldest and largest airline trade association. Wascom’s extensive background in public affairs provides a high level of expertise to the talented group at Strategic Elements.
