Forbes contributor and former CBS and ABC journalist Maura Kennedy joins Strategic Elements as the Senior Director of Public Relations and Communications. Kennedy brings more than a decade of public relations, communications, and marketing experience to Strategic Elements.
Most recently, Kennedy worked as the Marketing Director at Pond Lehocky, the largest workers’ compensation firm in Pennsylvania. While at the law firm, Kennedy helped to build the marketing department out into an agency-style team, fostering a cutting-edge legal marketing operation unique to the law firm world. Under Kennedy’s leadership, Pond Lehocky was named a U.S. News & World Report Best Lawyers Best Law Firms, Top Workplaces by The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Best Places to Work by The Philadelphia Business Journal.
A former TV news reporter and anchor, Kennedy covered breaking news around the country for CBS, ABC, and FOX news affiliates. During her time as a TV news journalist, Kennedy interviewed John McCain, Madeleine Albright, and reported live from the Boston Marathon bombing, Sandy Hook elementary shooting, Whitey Bulger trial, and Barack Obama’s presidential campaign tour. Kennedy is the founder of Women of the Row, a networking group for historic Boathouse Row women rowers in Philadelphia. She also serves on the board of the Cooper River Rowing Association, chairs the Communications Committee at the University Barge Club, a National Historic Landmark, and oversees social media operations for Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, which is the third-largest rowing competition in the U.S.
