Digital PR/Marketing Intern – Remote

Strategic Elements is a multi-client public affairs firm based in West Des Moines with remote locations all over the country. Our company is seeking a part-time intern for our Digital team to assist with various client-related support services. Scope of work includes marketing plans, analytics, compiling report materials, social media management, and collaborating with the Digital team on projects.

Responsibilities

Our digital advocacy intern will work closely with the digital team, assisting with many social media and digital activities and supporting political, advocacy, and corporate clients across owned, earned, and amplified channels. Supporting activities will span channels, including social media, digital advertising, email, and web. We seek a motivated individual passionate about public affairs and advocacy to work with our growing team and is inspired to keep up with industry trends and evolutions.

This position will need to serve clients across the political spectrum. However, ideal candidates will have worked in or are familiar with Republican politics to service our existing and growing bench of clients.

 

  • Social media content development

  • Social media content scheduling

  • Social media account and comment monitoring

  • Social media metrics and analytics reporting support, as needed

  • Social listening report support, as needed

  • Website content support

  • Email content support

  • Writing support, as needed

  • Ad campaign support, as needed

  • SEO support, as needed

  • Research for current clients and business development

  • General administrative support

Requirements

  • Recent graduate (graduated within the past year) or an undergraduate/graduate student in the last year or two of a program in political science, political management, public administration, political science, business, or other public relations or communications-related areas of study

  • Working knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Social channels including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, and Reddit, and best practices for writing content on each

  • Sprout Social (or similar social scheduler)

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills

  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling content

  • Self-starter, good time management, creative, with the ability to communicate in a professional manner

  • Ability to work well independently and within a team

  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of service quality and SE’s mission

Preferred Qualifications

  • Involved (or prior involvement) in student organizations on campus or in the community

  • Interest in public affairs, politics, and news
